The Tadpole Nebula, officially known as IC 410 and also referred to as Sharpless 2 236 and Ced 43 is a captivating emission nebula located in the Auriga constellation. It was discovered by the astronomer Max Wolf on September 25th, 1892. This nebula is positioned at the heart of Auriga. Is intricately connected to the NGC 1893 star cluster indicating star formation, in the region.
Spanning a distance of 100 light years the Tadpole Nebula showcases a celestial sculpture shaped by the powerful emissions from nearby stars. One notable feature, within this nebula is its two tadpole shaped structures. These areas consist of dust and cooler gas potentially nurturing proto stars. Astronomers estimate that these structures are 10 years long based on observational data analysis.
ellar Powerhouses; HD 242908 and LS V+33°16
Many stars contribute to the brightness of the nebula but two main sources of energy are HD 242908 and LS V+33°16. These stars belong to the O5V type. Are relatively young estimated to be, under three million years old.
