The Nebula in Space, Definition, Types, and Many More..

8:27 PM |

The universe is a center of wonders, everything in this universe is beautiful including you and me, even the dark also. I know that sounds crazy but if you get in deep you will find the dark I’m just kidding you, Today we will explore the world of nebulae. And our topic is going to be: Nebula in space

Another amazing, scary, beautiful object that makes them attractive, so without wasting the time let’s dive into today’s topic.

What is a nebula

The nebula is a giant cloud of dust and gas in space. Some nebulas are formed when a massive star dies called a supernova. The reaming waste and other dust particles of dead stars form a nebula. While some nebulas are formed when the interstellar medium starts collapsing due to gravity.

Elements like helium and hydrogen are the most quantity available in a nebula

A nebula can be very large and extend over 500 light-years into space and can be up to 2000 times the mass of the Sun.

The most amazing thing about them is they are in different shapes and colors, making them more beautiful.

Nebula meaning

The nebula word is taken from Latin which means a cloud, mist, or fog. We can’t see any nebula from the earth by the naked eye, but we can see a nebula just with a normal telescope.

How is a nebula formed?

Most of the nebulae are formed when a supernova occurs. A supernova is an explosion of a massive star. The remaining parts, dust, gas, and other particles that available after the explosion become a nebula.

But some of the nebulae are formed because of gravity. In regions where particles such as dust gas are available in large quantities, gravity occurs in such regions. And due to gravity, the gas and dust particles begin to come closer, and a nebula is formed.

How a nebula die

The nebula dies because of forming the stars, the stars take all the gas and dust particles inside the nebula. As a nebula gives birth to a star it gets smaller. Eventually, the nebula became very small. start collapsing by its own gravity and convert itself to a massive or small star depending on the remaining amount of the nebula after giving birth to all-stars. And with this way a nebula dies.

Types of nebula

Different types of nebulas are categorized according to their different types of structure appearance and other things.

The planetary nebula

The planetary nebula is formed when a star explodes its outer layers when it runs out of fuel. These exploded layers speared in space with a spherical shape.

It is called a planetary nebula because it seems like a planet, because of its spherical shape.

The emission nebula

An emission nebula is a very hot cloud of dust and gas. This type of nebulas absorbs light from nearby stars. Because of this light absorption, the temperature inside them gets very high. And this high temperature causes it to glow in space.

The emission nebula is Often founded in regions where new stars are born.

The reflection nebula

The reflection nebula is a nebula that does not have its own light but instead reflects the light of nearby stars. This type of nebulae has very thick layers of gas and dust. The brightest reflection nebulae are founded where new stars being formed.

Here the layer of dust and gas is very thick and reflecting the light newborn bright stars. Sometimes the gas and dust are very thick that the new stars are not actually be seen.

The dark nebula

The dark nebula is a nebula with a high concentration of dust particles inside it. This allows it to scatter and absorbs all incident optical light, making them completely opaque at visible wavelengths.

In the outer parts or layers of this dark cloud or nebula, the hydrogen is neutral. Deeper within it, as dust blocks out an increasing amount of stellar ultraviolet radiation. The cloud becomes darker and more cooler.

The supernova remnants

The waste, dust, and other particles that remain after the explosion of a massive star are also able to make a nebula, such a supernova remnant is shown below

This is the veil nebula formed after the supernova. It is a cloud of heated and ionized gases.

How are stars born

As we know the stars are born in the nebula, but how. The gravity in a nebula starts concentrating on a single point, which causes a compression of gas. When gas compresses the particle such as hydrogen and helium start colliding with each other and a nuclear reaction occurs. And a star born

For more information about starts from birth to death

Star, The another amazing thing in the universe. Do you know a hypergiant can last up to 30 million years, while the sun-like stars or yellow dwarf stars can last up to 100 billion years?

Some of the most famous nebulae
The Orion nebula

The Orion nebula is one of the most famous nebulae in space. The massive stars are located in the middle of the nebula are bombarding the gas with ultraviolet radiation causing it to glow. There is also a white dwarf star in the center.

The horsehead nebula

The nebula I like the most is the horsehead nebula. It is a dark nebula, 1,375 light-years far from earth. The stars are forming inside the nebula. As they grow, they gradually eat away at their birth clouds. In the end, the nebula will be consumed and torn apart by a large amount of active star birth and nurseries inside it.

The Eagle Nebula

The Eagle nebula is a nebula with the head of an eagle, it is also known as the M16. There can two types of the nebula in the spaces of this nebula emission nebula and dark nebulae. The stars are birthing inside this nebula, and at the end, this nebula will also disappear by the more production of stars.

The Crab Nebula

The crab nebula is the remnants of a massive star that destructed itself in an enormous supernova explosion.
