THE WOOD "BREATHES"

The ground really seems to breathe and seeing it makes you disconcerted. We are in Quebec, in Canada, and the images in the video appear to evoke a paranormal phenomenon.

Unfortunately, we should disappoint some of you because the explanation, again, is scientific. This phenomenon occurs by a concomitance of several factors.

During a rainy event or storm, the soil can become saturated with water and the cohesiveness of the soil with the roots is loose. When the wind blows on the crown of a tree, its strength is transferred to the roots and the soil begins to 'rise'. If the winds were strong enough and lasted long enough, the roots would start to break and eventually the trees would fall.

The result, rather suggestive, are the images of the video that give the illusion that the earth is breathing.
