A FIREBALL SAILED ACROSS THE SKIES OF FRANCE

2:59 PM | ,

Last night around four o'clock in the morning a very bright racing car crossed the sky of northern France, becoming for an instant as bright as the full moon!

The event was observed and recorded by many people scattered between France and England. This video shows the car over Rouen, Normandy.

What makes the event even more interesting is that it was planned!

The asteroid was discovered some hours before it struck our planet from the Konkoly Observatory in Hungary. The preliminary orbit calculated by the observatory showed that this small object, with an estimated diameter of one metre, was heading for Earth at a speed of 14 km/s. They were able to predict that this asteroid would enter the atmosphere over the English Channel around 4:00 a.m., then explode in the skies over France moments later. The total duration of the event was about ten seconds.

The asteroid was too small to represent any risk to the safety of our planet. All he did was disintegrate into the atmosphere and become very bright, thus giving a spectacular good morning to many inhabitants of France and England.
